FAQ

  • What types of mental health services do you offer? Ametrine Mental Health offers medication management, individual psychotherapy, and light therapy services at this time.

  • How do I schedule an appointment? To schedule an appointment please visit the Becoming a Patient page and complete the prospective patient form. When we receive this we will give you a call to go over next steps.

  • Do you accept insurance, and what are your payment options? Ametrine Mental Health accepts insurance, and offers discounts for people that elect to private pay.

  • What should I expect during my first appointment? At the time of the first appointment please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time to complete the needed paperwork. These forms can be found on the Becoming a Patient if you want to complete them ahead of time or can be sent through the patient portal. There will still be a couple questionnaires to complete at the time of the visit. When this paperwork is completed you will meet with your provider who will get some background information such as family history, medical history, medication trials, hospitalizations, as well as review your current symptoms with you. If time allows in this first appointment treatment options will be discussed.

  • How often will I need to come in for appointments? This will depend on how you are doing and your medication regimen. If you are being seen for medication changes more frequent appointments will be needed. Likewise if you are working on acute stressors in therapy more frequent appointments will be needed. If you are stable on your current medications or are doing well with the completion of your therapy treatment plan, appointments may be stretched out further depending on the medications you are taking or how you are feeling.

  • What is your cancellation policy? 24 hours notice is required in advance for appointments that need to be cancelled, or there may be a $40 charge. This policy is in place to allow providers to fill the appointment time as there is often someone that would like to get in.

  • Do you offer telehealth or virtual appointments? Telehealth visits are available following the initial appointment which needs to be in person. All telehealth visits need to be done via the patient portal so it is recommended that account be set up right away when establishing care.

  • What if I don’t feel the provider I’m seeing is for me? Please let us know if you do not feel we are meeting your needs or if you think you could get more benefit out of a different approach. We understand the importance of a strong therapeutic relationship and will not be offended if you let us know you think you need a different provider. We will help you get connected with someone that may be a better fit in any way we can.
